Our coast, our responsibility
The coast is a big part of who we are, and that's why it's natural for us to take care of it. All of us who work at Son Spa live close to the sea and see it as both inspiration and responsibility. Therefore, we make conscious choices from heating and food, to reuse, recycling, and social responsibility. Small, daily actions make a big difference when repeated, and we believe that sustainability begins with caring.
In the spa, we use products that are safe for both the body and the sea, and in the kitchen, seasonal menus are served where as little food as possible is wasted. In the autumn of 2025, we will also be launching a new, sustainable lunch concept designed to provide our guests with tasty experiences while helping us further reduce food waste. Swan certification will also be in place by 2025.
We collaborate with local actors, use seawater for heating, and have beehives on the roof producing our own honey – while also helping with pollination in the local area. For us, sustainability isn't about big words and long strategies, but about making wise choices every single day.

Our sustainability program
We work holistically with sustainability, and here are some examples of the measures we have taken:
- We use seawater to heat the spa, pools, and hot water in the rooms.
- Our heat pumps are especially energy-efficient.
- We have beehives on the roof and serve the honey at breakfast.
- We choose local and sustainably sourced food in the restaurant and work every day to prevent food waste.
- The entire hotel uses LED lighting.
- We only use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
- Our suppliers must meet strict environmental and ethical standards.
- In the rooms, you'll find water-saving showers and dispensers to reduce plastic use.
- We avoid single-use plastic items and reduce consumption wherever possible.
- 16 electric car chargers are available for our guests.

Neighborhood hotel
At Son Spa, we aim to be a positive force in the local community all year round. Through various initiatives and collaborations, we support both the local community and those in need. We support local sports teams, schools, and organizations for children and youth, and we organize annual spring swims for a good cause. Our lonely Christmas tree provides gifts for refugee children in the municipality.
We also pass on what we do not use, such as hygiene products and clothes, to people in need. In addition, we donate to UNICEF and contribute annually to beach cleaning together with Kystlotteriet. In this way, we take care of the coastal landscape that we are a proud part of.

Would you like to contribute as a guest?
Small choices during your stay can make a big difference. Here are some simple tips on how you can contribute to a more sustainable stay:
- Sort your waste
- Only take as much food as you can eat
- Return bottles for recycling – don’t throw them in the general waste
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth
- Switch off lights and TV when leaving the room
- Hang up your towels and use them again
- Only charge your phone when needed – and remember to unplug the charger afterward
