Freedom of Information Act

On 1st July 2022, the Transparency Act came into force in Norway. The purpose is to promote businesses' respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions among business partners and in supply chains. It is essential to ensure public access to information concerning these issues and how businesses address them. Along with other measures, the legal requirement aims to support Norway's efforts to meet and adhere to UN Sustainable Development Goal 8 on decent work and economic growth, as well as Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production. At the core of the law is a duty to conduct and account for due diligence assessments. Due diligence assessments involve businesses identifying potential adverse impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions related to production and supply chains, implementing improvement measures, monitoring, and reporting. The work on the Transparency Act is anchored in our board and management at Son Spa AS.
